My Story

In my early 20s, I faced one of the toughest battles of my life: cancer. After winning that fight, I returned to a passion I held close growing up—dance. My love for dance quickly evolved into teaching, and before long, I was also leading Zumba classes at the studio where I worked. My Zumba classes became a huge hit, but in 2011, after the birth of my first child, I took a break.

When I returned, my path took a new turn toward martial arts, and I was hooked. Martial arts became a new passion, and I trained consistently for seven years. In 2018, Andy and I stepped away from martial arts and started a moving company. We found great success in it, but we missed the martial arts community deeply. That led us to finding our own space and opening Hooked Martial Arts in 2023.

As a mother of three and a woman business owner, I take great pride in leading a company that empowers others, especially women and children, through martial arts. Hooked Martial Arts is not just a business—it’s a place where I can nurture and support others while balancing the responsibilities of motherhood and entrepreneurship.

With over 18 years of teaching experience, I've honed my skills in communication, connection, and instruction, ensuring that every student—regardless of their starting point—feels supported and empowered. Alongside teaching, my time working in the family business provided me with invaluable knowledge in running operations smoothly and efficiently. Today, I’m proud to combine all these experiences to help lead Hooked Martial Arts, creating an environment where everyone, from children to adults, can grow, thrive, and discover their potential.
